Guest Blogging: Tolkien Edition

As some of you might know, Tolkien Reading Day is almost upon us.

For those of you who didn’t know/are too deeply buried in books in your own Hobbit holes to know what day it is, the reading day is just one of the fabulous dates on the Tolkien calendar when we celebrate all things Middle-Earth.

This Saturday, in case you were wondering.

And I have an announcement!

I am officially participating in the Ninth Annual Tolkien Reading Event at Pages Unbound.

The lovely folk there are hosting nine days of Tolkien-themed nerdery, and I will be doing a guest blog post on “The Smith of Wootton Major,” one of Tolkien’s shorter fairytales.

It’s my first time guest blogging, and I get to ramble about one of my favorite authors, so, should be fun, right?

The event runs from March 25 to April 2, and since I’ve gotten a sneak peak of the lineup, I can confirm there are going to be some great topics. Definitely check it out if you’re interested in all things Tolkien and show the participating bloggers your support!

And if you want to read my semi-literary ravings about a lesser-known Tolkien work, storytelling conventions, and the realm of Faery–for some unknown reason, the Pages Unbound duo has decided to open the event with my post, on the 25th, Reading Day itself.

No, no, no, I’m not utterly delighted and slightly nervous at the prospect. Nonsense. No idea what would give you that idea.

Wish me luck!
